“Pedati”, Exhibition For Merchant in Bukittinggi

At the end of the year, Bukittinggi’s people usually holding an exhibition for showing many kinds of things that are sold by merchant in Bukittinggi. The exhibition take one month, at the “Wirapraja field”. It is an amazing exhibition in Bukittinggi. The exhibition is crowded at the night. Actually Pedati means the Trade and Industry exhibition.

The entire merchants in Bukitinggi take a place in Wirapraja Field to show and sell many kinds of things, like clothes, books and accessories. Different merchant will sell different things. Usually the price is cheaper than in the market. It is the best time for shopping when Pedati is held, because you can buy many kind of thing with high quality in lower price. You can also find many kind of food like meatball, fried rice, and the others. There are also sold crafts and some painting.

Beside trade exhibition, there is also art exhibition in Pedati. Every school usually sends their student to perform their art show in Pedati. They are traditional dancing, modern dancing, singing, drama, and band. Every night the person or group who performs art exhibition must be different, because there are many people who want to perform their art talent. The art exhibition is started at 3.00 pm until midnight.

If you want to buy something in Pedati, you can bargain before you buy it. If you do not bargain before you buy it the price will be higher. Not all of the things can bargain, although. You cannot bargain the things that have price tag.
